In the Abrahamic faiths, God created the earth as a sign of goodness. The creation of the earth is a religious narrative accepted within religious communities as an acknowledgment that the earth, all its contents, and humanity are creations of the One God. Only God created the earth and all its contents. This theological formulation is woven into the Christian faith, stating that the earth did not spontaneously emerge from chaos. God controls both chaos and order.
